On November 10, 2021, it was a milestone for domestic enterprises as the General Manager of Guangzhou Branch of CCS, Mr. Liang Feng, awarded the MED type B+D certificate to Mr. Liu Peng, General Manager of Hope Great, for their independently developed maritime Low-Location Lighting(LLL)system.
This is the first time that a LLL system independently developed and manufactured by a domestic enterprise has obtained the MED certificate, and it marked the first set of MED certificate issued by CCS to a manufacturing enterprise in the Guangdong region.
The LLL system is a specialized lighting system that complies with the requirements of the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) 74 Reg.II-2/13, International Maritime Organization (IMO) Res A.752(18), and MSC.98(73). It is an essential part of the fire-fighting and evacuation system of ships and is widely used in high-end marine equipment such as cruise ships, passenger-roll-on/roll-off ships, marine ranches, and large surface and underwater vessels.
The Marine Equipment Directive (MED) 2014/90/EU is an EU regulation specifically stipulating for equipment intended to be placed on ships and circulated within the European Economic Area. It aims to enhance maritime safety, prevent maritime pollution, and ensure the circulation of such equipment within the European community.
During the certification process, the Guangzhou Branch, CCS Hellas S.A., and Hope Great worked closely together and maintained communication. They dispatched relevant technical experts to provide technical guidance and actively supported the domestication of ship equipment, which was highly praised by the manufacturing enterprises. Hope Great also sent a letter of thanks specifically to express their gratitude for the high-quality technical services provided by CCS.
