Golar LNG Limited announced that it has reached an agreement with BP(British Petroleum) to resolve disputes related to the Greater Tortue Ahmeyim (GTA) Floating Liquefied Natural Gas (FLNG) project and is preparing to launch the project's second FLNG production unit.

Golar LNG and BP have resolved all existing disputes, including ongoing arbitration proceedings, and the two parties are realigning plans to ensure the smooth advancement of the GTA project. Located in the maritime border between Mauritania and Senegal, the project is expected to become an important source of LNG supply in the region.

For the delay in the start-up of the FPSO (Floating Production Storage and Offloading), Golar LNG is actively preparing for the test of its FLNG facilities. The company has announced a so-called "commercial restart" plan and stated that all disputed matters have now been resolved, and the two parties are working closely together to ensure that the GTA project can achieve the Commercial Operation Date (COD) as soon as possible.

The CEO of Golar LNG said, "We are delighted to have reached this important milestone with BP, which signifies our mutual commitment to advancing the GTA project. Our team is working tirelessly to prepare for the test of the FLNG facilities to ensure that once the FPSO is launched, we can immediately commence LNG production."

Golar LNG's second FLNG unit, the "Gimi," was completed and delivered in November 2023, which will play a key role in BP's GTA project. The FLNG was upgraded at Keppel Shipyard in Singapore and will be used to fulfill BP's FLNG charter-party offshore Mauritania and Senegal.

Golar LNG anticipates that with the commencement of the test of the FLNG "Gimi," it will further strengthen the company's leading position in the FLNG market and help to consolidate the long-term cooperation with BP.
